London Stansted airport-based charter operator Titan Airways has launched its new European affiliate, Titan Airways Malta, following receipt of an AOC from the Civil Aviation Directorate at Transport Malta.

An Airbus A321-200 is the first aircraft to be added to the Maltese AOC. Two A321P2Fs will also join the 9H register this summer and Titan plans to add a further two of the EFW freight conversions in 2022.

“We are delighted to receive our AOC from the Civil Aviation Directorate at Transport Malta," says Titan MD Alastair Willson. “Thank you to our European partners, Katrina Abela and team from GVZH Advocates, Transport Malta and all our team for their hard work in establishing this new airline. We look forward to commencing both passenger and all-cargo operations with our fleet of A321 and A321P2Fs in the coming weeks."

Maltese Civil Aviation Directorate director general Charles Pace adds: “Titan Malta has shown great ambition and eagerness to obtain the necessary certification from the Civil Aviation Directorate. Malta should be proud to add such a big company to our island. I would like to thank the company for having faith in us and investing in Malta and also thank all inspectors who worked diligently to meet the set targets within the timeframes."

With Titan Airways Malta, Titan will be able to continue and extend its operational reach within Europe and further afield. The two companies will work closely together to maintain the high standards of safety, service and reliability for which they are known.
