Duncan Aviation engineering and certification services celebrates successful projects

Last year, Duncan Aviation launched a program that made its highly regarded engineering and certification services available for projects throughout the aerospace industry. Although the company's engineering and certification professionals have always been available to assist other companies, Duncan Aviation expanded its services to include a team dedicated solely to supporting external requests.

“Since we started this external focus, Duncan Aviation's engineering and certification service team has helped eight companies work through certification projects to develop and amend supplemental type certificates (STCs),” says Shawn Carraher, manager of certification programs with Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska. “We have provided vital subject matter expertise and guidance to help these companies get their products certified and available in the aerospace market.”

For more than 20 years, Duncan Aviation engineering and certification team members have worked on aircraft systems and structures and approved design changes for interiors/airframe modifications and system installations and upgrades with an exemplary history of safety and compliance. Collectively, the engineering and certification teams have more than 1,269 years of engineering and aviation experience, which allows them to recognize, manage, and mitigate risk for customers for timely and efficient project completions. And in the last three years alone, the engineering and certification teams at Duncan Aviation have issued or ammended 31 STCs.

“There continues to be a great need in the industry for engineering and certification services. Duncan Aviation is ready and able to help fill that gap,” Carraher says. Services include planning, analysis, and business case development; engineering design, integration, and certification; and aftermarket assistance.
