GE Aviation receives safety impact award from NetJets

NetJets has honored GE Aviation with its Inner Circle safety impact award, commending GE Aviation's commitment to safety and service. The award was given for proactively making an impact on the safety of NetJets' owners, teams, and planes.

GE Aviation was selected for advancing NetJets' capabilities in business aviation with innovative advancements in flight data safety analytics and engine monitoring which supports its Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) program.

For more than 20 years, GE Aviation has been building flight data analytics tools to make flying safer and more efficient. NetJets owners and passengers benefit from an increased margin of safety afforded by GE Aviation's eFOQA-hosted FOQA solution, enabling flight personnel to identify and mitigate areas of potential risk.

GE's commitment to engaging with the business aviation community can be highlighted by a recent safety incident. In response to the 2014 Bedford accident, GE's flight analytics engineers developed an industry-leading method to identify instances where departures occur without a full pre-flight check of the flight controls. These insights were shared with the NBAA Safety Committee and made available to all users of GE's FOQA tools.

“Inner Circle awards are presented to our partners who work hard to help us enhance the life of each owner, one exceptional travel experience at a time,” said Andy Naudasher, VP of global procurement, NetJets. “It takes innovation and a commitment to safety and service to maintain our position as the leading private aviation company in the world, and we can't do it alone. We are thankful to our partners who go above and beyond, and the Inner Circle awards recognize their extraordinary efforts.”

The award was one of 10 given by NetJets at its Supplier Forum to recognize supplier contributions to its own operation and the industry overall. Two recipients were named in each of five categories that support NetJets' mission: safety, owners, teams, planes, and finance.
