ICG expands list of FANS-1/A STCs at 58th AEA Convention

ICG (International Communications Group, Inc.), headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, arrived at the 58th Annual Aircraft Electronics Association International Convention & Trade Show in Dallas, Texas this week with a great deal of momentum as the number of supplemental type certificates (STCs) being granted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or currently in work continues to grow at an impressive pace.

Most recently, Comlux America received FAA certification for a FANS-1/A over Iridium (FOI) installation utilizing ICG's NxtLink ICS- 120A or ICS-220A on a Bombardier Challenger 601 aircraft. In addition, Duncan Aviation of Lincoln, Nebraska has also received a supplemental type certificate (STC) for a FANS-1/A solution for the Dassault Falcon 900B. Chicago Jet Group has received STCs for FANS-1/A systems incorporating ICG's NxtLink transceivers on a Gulfstream Astra/G100, Dassault Falcon 50 and 900B series aircraft. Chicago Jet Group also has additional STC projects, all with ICG NxtLink transceivers in-process on several additional airframes to include a Gulfstream G-II, G-III, G-IV, G-V, Falcon 2000 and a Boeing B-767. Furthermore, ICG has accumulated numerous commercial category aircraft STCs on both Boeing and Airbus models.

“ICG has continued to build on the pace we established coming out of last year's AEA Convention,” said Scott Trainum, chief executive officer of ICG. “We've ramped up our production and aggressively expanded our collaborations on installation and certification projects with a number of partners. These relationships with OEMs and joint certification efforts have accounted for significant growth in the number of airframes operating with ICG's FOI systems during the past year.

“At the same time, we are extremely gratified to have been selected by Iridium Communications Inc. as one of five industry-leading manufacturers to design, manufacture, and distribute aeronautical products for Iridium Certus broadband. Iridium Certus is a next-generation broadband service that will leverage the enhanced capabilities of Iridium NEXT to deliver enterprise-grade communications anywhere in the world. It underscores the versatility and creativity of our engineering force which is one of the major factors that sets ICG apart from our competitors.”

ICG is exhibiting at the Aircraft Electronics Association International Convention and Trade Show at booth number 119.
