LHT and Mexmil team up to produce acoustic insulation
Lufthansa Technik and a manufacturer of commercial aviation insulation systems, The Mexmil Company of Santa Ana, USA, have signed a contract that will provide the licensing to Mexmil of Lufthansa Technik's patented enhanced cabin acoustic insulation system.

Lufthansa Technik and a manufacturer of commercial aviation insulation systems, The Mexmil Company of Santa Ana, USA, have signed a contract that will provide the licensing to Mexmil of Lufthansa Technik's patented enhanced cabin acoustic insulation system.

The AcousticPlus system is designed to provide noise reduction within the cabin of vip and commercial aircraft.

"We have been developing this enhanced acoustic noise reduction insulation system in our acoustic laboratory for over two years," said Kai-Stefan Roepke, director of aircraft interiors for Lufthansa Technik.

"We decided to team up with Mexmil for the exclusive manufacture of the system, who will also provide superior capabilities and support infrastructure and will be responsible for the marketing of the system,"

he added.

Scott Holland, vp of marketing and sales for Mexmil, said: "Demand from commercial airlines led us to develop and pursue this unique opportunity with Lufthansa Technik.

"The result has been the development of a superior value sound barrier system that has proven itself not just in the laboratory but in operation on several large vip aircraft installations."
