Why visit ACE ’24?
Estonian operator Diamond Sky has added a HondaJet to its fleet. The aircraft is currently being flown in to Tallinn. The company presented numerous options to its client, and they preferred the HondaJet. Diamond Sky is working hard to get its maintenance staff trained to handle the new type, which is the first of its kind in the region.
“Flights are likely to be inter European, I don’t think we’ll go to the US with this aircraft,” says CEO Ken Koort. “Performance, price and direct operating costs were favourable and reliability too. There were a number of options available but this emerged as the best, and it enjoys good factory support. We are seeing slow growth in our market.”
On 3 June the company is hosting a small EBACE-style event in Tallinn, inviting a couple of hundred top executives to its base, from Estonia and neighbouring countries. It has teamed up with Cessna and Bell for the occasion, which will feature a Latitude. “People will be able to see our operation, from the small props that we have like the DA62 right up to the midsize jets,” Koort goes on. “We want to let customers know what we can offer so this event is going to be a great thing in a month’s time.
“We are actively looking to add aircraft to our AOC, and we are boosting our maintenance facility. Right now we have the Boeing 737 family and the Airbus 320 family on our licence. There is a niche market for us to pursue with small and medium-sized business jets. We are seeing a number of aircraft changing their registration to Estonia because it is small and lean and a professional country.”
