Maya Island Air to retrofit with zero emission propulsion
Maya Island Air is the latest airline to sign up for a zero emission aviation partnership with Monte, encompassing all technical and financial aspects of the conversion process.
Maya Island Air will be retrofitting its 14 strong Grand Caravan fleet with zero emission propulsion.

Maya Island Air is to explore the conversion of its fleet with zero emission propulsion technologies with zero-emissions regional turboprop lessor Monte Aircraft Leasing. The partnership encompasses all technical and financial aspects of the conversion process.

Maya Island Air is a domestic airline based in Belize City, Belize and operates a fleet of 14 Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft on both scheduled and charter flights.

A spokesperson for Monte says: "We believe its route network is well suited to the adoption of zero emission propulsion technologies and are excited to work with it on this journey towards net zero."

Recently Monte has also agreed to finance the fleet conversions of Botswana-based charter airline Mack Air and Costa Rica Green Airways, both Cessna Grand Caravan EX operators, to zero emission propulsion technologies, and to purchase up to 50 powertrains to enable battery-electric conversions on new and existing Cessna Caravans, and hydrogen-electric conversions on new and existing Beechcraft King Airs, for Dovetail Electric Aviation.
