Wheels Up ups the ante on COVID precautions
Wheels Up's Safe Passage includes high-sensitivity testing, availability of personal protective equipment, an insistence on passengers wearing masks while travelling and the provision of snacks and water onboard aircraft.

Membership organisation Wheels Up has launched Safe Passage, an enhanced safety and health programme for its employees, members, customers and partners with expanded guidelines in response to COVID-19 and today's ongoing public health concerns.

The programme, developed by the company's safety and operations teams, is introducing safety measures that were implemented at the onset of the pandemic and will evolve as new technology and innovations develop and in accordance with new medical and governmental guidelines. Wheels Up is committed to leading the private aviation industry by adopting Collective Go, a comprehensive COVID-19 screening, testing and monitoring solution developed by Collective Health.

Safe Passage incorporates the already stringent safety procedures currently in place as well as outlines heightened cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting processes in the Wheels Up owned and managed fleet of over 300 aircraft and for all passengers and employees. The protocols also apply to the Wheels Up approved network of safety-vetted and verified operating partners who are complying with the outlined requirements.

“Since our inception, Wheels Up has been built on a commitment to safety,” says Kenny Dichter, founder and CEO. “Safe Passage is a tip to tail approach for maintaining a safe work and safe travel environment. With all of the measures we've identified, including the integration of Collective Go, we are reinforcing our commitment to your safety.”

Wheels Up is leading the private aviation industry with its efforts and commitment to health and safety, and we are proud to work in tandem with it as it continues to put safety first for its crewmembers, employees, members and passengers,” adds Rajaie Batniji, chief health officer at Collective Health.
