StandardAero marks milestone maintenance events
While continuing to invest in its MRO services, StandardAero has performed more HTF7000 major events than any other MRO and is currently completing its 10,000th Falcon airframe service event since the year 2000.
Marc Drobny says StandardAero is powering through HTF7000 engine maintenance and has completed 10,000 Falcon airframe services.

StandardAero, the only OEM-authorised independent MRO that is licensed to perform heavy maintenance on the HTF7000 series engine, recently completed its 400th major HTF7000 maintenance event. The company has performed major and minor events on all operational models of the HTF7000, servicing customers operating Challenger 300 and 350s, Legacy 450 and 500s, Praetor 500 and 600s and Gulfstream 280s. The associated engine models are the HTF7000, HTF7350 and HTF7250.

“Most of the events so far have been completed in our Augusta, Georgia shop, but many have also taken place remotely, both in North America and in Europe, either at customer locations or during AOGs,” says president Marc Drobny. “We are committed to expanding our capabilities and reducing turn around time to better serve Honeywell's HTF7000 operators worldwide.”

Most recently, the company expanded its test cell capability in Augusta to include the HTF7500 engine model that powers Embraer Legacy 450/500 and Praetor 500/600 aircraft. Previously, HTF7500 engines had been shipped to Honeywell to perform required test cell runs. The new capability allows the Augusta facility to complete all work on this engine in-house.

StandardAero also owns the industry's largest HTF7000 series engine rental bank, to which it recently added HTF7500 rental engines. Engine removal and replacement can be performed on site for customers by StandardAero's geographically dispersed mobile services teams or at the company's Augusta facility, where HTF7000 series engines are routinely overhauled.

“Since HTF7000 series engines are designed for on-condition maintenance, increased rental engine availability coupled with our robust field service capability can be critical to minimising risk and disruption to flight schedules due to unexpected engine repairs that are identified during scheduled borescope inspections,” explains Drobny.

The company is also currently completing its 10,000th Falcon airframe service event since the year 2000, on a recently acquired Falcon 7X. Solairus Aviation senior vice president of technical services Rene Cervantes comments: “We only trust our clients' aircraft with the industry's most talented professionals and time and time again, StandardAero meets and exceeds our extremely high standards for our MRO partners.”

StandardAero will also be modifying the 7X for LPV, Synthetic Vision, Honeywell Jetwave satcom and a Collins Venue cabin management system. Additionally, an interior bulkhead modification will be completed that will add one more legal seat location usable for takeoff, taxi and landing.

“This project is a perfect example of StandardAero's nose-to-tail service offerings,” notes Drobny. “There are many advantages to a maintenance facility that can offer complete, comprehensive services for engine, airframe, avionics, interiors and paint. Our goal is to reduce the complexity of owning and operating an aircraft by providing clients with a single source for all of their service needs.”
