Lane Aviation, based at John Glenn Columbus International airport (KCMH) and one of the oldest family-owned FBOs in the United States, recently received an ‘84 Years in Safe Flying’ award from the NBAA for its charter operation.

To help celebrate, the company hosted onsite festivities for tenants, customers and employees with lunch from Mojo Tago, a local food truck vendor. Lane Aviation is also a corporate partner to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum (NVMM) that opened in downtown Columbus in the autumn of 2018. Lane's sponsorship of the NVMM comes as a result of its long tenure as the United States government fuel provider at KCMH. As a corporate partner to NVMM, Lane offers complimentary passes to the museum to its customers. A military patch board currently has 29 patches representing various military units that have visited Lane.

President Steve J. Evans says: “It really is impressive when you look at how we have grown and expanded from a small flight school started by Ruth and Foster Lane in 1935, to a large six hangar operation covering 140,000 square feet and over 11 acres of ramp space. Anytype of aircraft that can land at John Glenn Columbus International, we can ground handle anytime of the day or night and in any kind of weather.”

Lane Aviation is a member of the Air Elite Network which was established in 2011 and has grown steadily from 12 founding members to 74 locations worldwide. Air Elite members must meet several airport, facility, and service quality standards to qualify for and maintain membership.
