Swiss rotorcraft manufacturer Kopter has received the Aerosuisse Award for developing the country's first light helicopter. CEO Andreas Loewenstein was presented with the award by Aerosuisse president Thomas Hurter at the 50th General Assembly of the Swiss Aerospace Association last month.

"This helicopter is proof of the innovative capacity of the Swiss aviation industry and an example of progress in the environmentally friendly construction of energy-efficient aircraft," said Hurter.

Kopter will also be integrating the Garmin G3000H avionics suite into its SH09 aircraft as standard. Features include dual landscape-oriented displays and a single touchscreen controller.

"The G3000H will ease the workload of SH09 pilots while providing great situational awareness," says executive VP Michele Riccobono. "This will enable a higher level of safety for every mission, the core principle behind the design of our helicopter."

Garmin's VP of marketing and sales Carl Wolf adds: "The G3000H merges modern technologies with an exceptional feature set that reduces pilot workload and improves situational awareness so helicopter pilots can make the most informed decisions while operating in high workload conditions."
