London Stansted-based Titan Airways has selected an A5 external battery manufactured by Zendure of Silicon Valley, USA, to power the iPads in its electronic flight bags. “We have been searching for the right external battery for months, but it's really hard to find one that meets all of our requirements,” says A320 manager and administrator Andrew Taggart.

“We needed an external battery that is not only reliable, durable and well designed, but also can meet the most rigid safety standards in a flight environment, such as UN38.8, to provide power for the EFB for our pilots.”

First officer Oliver Pickstock added that the battery is a 'great product' which allows maximum EFB utilisation. “It is stylish and provides plenty of power,” he adds.

One hundred Zendure A5 external batteries are now being used on a daily basis on all Titan Airways flights. “It is truly an honour for us to work with Titan Airways,” says Zendure co-founder and ceo Bryan Liu. “It is one of the top charter airlines and we are proud to contribute to the industry.”
