Duncan Aviation completes 38 Gulfstream inspections in 2009, ready for more in 2010

January 22, 2010

Duncan Aviation's teams completed Gulfstream airframe inspections on 38 aircraft in 2009. The inspections included everything from an A Check on a G-100 to a 5,000 landing inspection on a GIV to extensive structural repairs, including one that required the removal of the wing, on a GII.

The teams also performed the Water Line Ribbon Heater Upgrade for several GIVs. This upgrade is identified in Aircraft Service Change (ASC 469), also addressed in Customer Bulletin No. 194, and requires the replacement of all existing water line ribbon heater installations above and below the floor of the aircraft.

"This ASC takes 400 to 600 labor hours to complete, depending on the interior configuration" said Doug Donahue, Airframe Sales Rep with Duncan Aviation. "GIV and GV operators will have to complete this ASC by 2011 and we expect to see many more this year."

In addition to these inspections, Duncan Aviation completed exterior paint and interior refurbishment for many of these aircraft, including a GIV-SP that is currently for sale.
