Presidential Aviation passes Stage 1 of International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) registration

Presidential Aviation, a leading aircraft charter, management, aircraft sales and jet maintenance company based at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE), recently passed its Stage 1 audit for IS- BAO registration, an audit that is based on ICAO standards and is the recommended code of practice for both domestic and internationally operating flight departments.

IS-BAO registration is designed to enable flight departments to establish a framework for effective safety and operational best practices while aligning with specific international business aircraft operations, like Presidential Aviation. Presidential Aviation’s safety and training officer, Jason Wilde said, “We are extremely proud of this milestone. It is a depiction of the superior level of safety awareness within our company, and it shows the seasoned skill set of our entire team.” Wilde leads and monitors the company’s internal safety management system (SMS), the foundation of the IS-BAO standard.

“The IS-BAO program is broken down into three stages of audits. Passing the IS-BAO stage 1 audit confirms our company’s safety management system (SMS) infrastructure is established and safety management activities have been appropriately targeted,” said Presidential Aviation’s chief executive officer Oscar Arce. Aviation entities around the world, such as the FAA, the CAA (Canada), and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) all recognize IS- BAO as meeting and, in some cases exceeding, business aviation industry standards.

The extensive IS-BAO audit includes setting up and following a safety management system (SMS), along with auditing of the organization’s procedures and paperwork with regard to: personnel, standard operating procedures, training programs, flight operations, operations in international airspace, aircraft equipment, aircraft maintenance, company operations manuals, emergency response plan, environmental management, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods and security issues.
