Flying Colours flourishes in Asian region

Flying Colours Corp. the refurbishment, completions and MRO specialist, will be marking another successful year of Asian operations at this year's ABACE from booth H1300. During the last twelve months the full-interiors service business, based in Bombardier Business Aircraft's Service Centre at Seletar Airport, Singapore, has added several new technicians and seen a steady increase in the number of Globals and Challengers worked on. The current team of 24, with capabilities covering a wide range of interior needs, serves a customer-base of private individuals, corporate flight departments and charter fleets.

Growth is being driven by a number of factors as the amount, and size, of projects flowing through the workshop increases, and the region's buoyant pre-owned market drives demand. “Originally the requests were for small repairs such as scratches in woodwork, stain removals on credenzas, mending soft furnishing, or small component replacements, but now we are asked to re-veneer entrie cabins, completely reupholster seats, and modify configurations,” says Eric Gillespie, executive VP, Flying Colours.

The team is also undertaking more cabin touch-ups and repairs to improve aircraft value for those looking to sell, seeing a higher demand for interior changes from new owners wishing to maintain the asset's value, and increased interior maintenance necessitated by the overall rise in charter fleet activity across the region.

“This has made the last twelve months a very busy time for us. We have established an excellent reputation across the region, and word has spread about the quality of our service,” adds Gillespie. The team's highly specialized knowledge is welcomed by owners who require quality work, with minimal downtime. “The rising demand from this maturing market is reflected in our continued growth.”

“ABACE gives us the opportunity to promote our Singapore team and all its capabilities. We will also provide details about our updated connectivity offering, and the need to install ADS-B Out if aircraft are flying regularly into the North American region. Our Chinese-speaking designer will be at the show talking about the latest trends in cabin design which incorporate fantastic new materials, cool contemporary styles, and a mounting number of high-tech solutions for the cabin. We suspect that future business growth from this maturing market will come from owners wanting to incorporate these exciting new options into their cabin,” concludes Gillespie.
