ACI Jet breaks ground on $17 million corporate headquarters, adds fourth hangar at SBP

ACI Jet, a world-class FBO providing corporate aircraft management, charter, maintenance and ground handling services, announced today that the company has begun construction on the company's new $17 million corporate headquarters at San Luis Obispo Airport. The 35,000-sq-ft office complex will be accompanied by a brand-new hangar installation, expanding the company's SBP airport hangar footprint by an additional 25,000-sq-ft.

Designed by San Jose-based architectural firm, AAI Design, and under the direction of President and chief executive officer William Borgsmiller, the brand-new office complex will introduce subtle aviation-themed elements into the design and structure of the building. Mr. Borgsmiller's focus with the design was twofold: to create a space where employees feel inspired while providing a quiet, professional environment for corporate visitors, clients, and base tenants with local offices at the airport. When the new office opens for business in 2018, ACI's current staff of 117 San Luis Obispo Airport-based sales, operations, maintenance, line service, and administrative team members will move to the new facility.

"We are bursting at the seams in our current facility," stated Mr. Borgsmiller. "We're adding staff members at an increasing rate with the launch of several new services exclusive to ACI in the works, and this new workspace cannot come soon enough."

Accompanying the new office location, a brand new 25,000-sq-ft hangar facility is being constructed directly adjacent the new offices. From this hangar, ACI's growing MRO and Part 145 repair station will have a larger footprint for their expanded capabilities, including an upgraded avionics repair and installation facility. The company currently has another 35,000-sq-ft maintenance and VIP tenant hangar equipped with all the equipment necessary for full-service, nose-to-tail maintenance, completions, and detailing, a light- and midsize-aircraft storage hangar, and a hangar and office installation which is sublet to tenants at SBP Airport.
