Cobham Satcom to highlight versatile Aviator range at NBAA

Leading satellite communications supplier Cobham Satcom has expanded its Aviator portfolio of airborne systems with the introduction of the Aviator S Series and will showcase its comprehensive range of advanced satcom systems at this year's NBAA on Booth N4027.

Ideal for business jets due to its revolutionary compact size, Cobham Satcom's next generation Aviator S enters the qualification phase this year and will be certified for flight through an EASA TSO by mid-2018. The launch of the breakthrough two LRU solution with HELGA antenna is critical to business and smaller aircraft which have less space available for fitting such equipment. Enabling Inmarsat's new SwiftBroadband-Safety (SB-S) IP data service, Aviator S will give pilots access to four-dimensional information in the cockpit.

Suitable for light to large cabin business jets, Aviator S is smaller and lighter than any other Inmarsat system. The range starts with the Aviator 200S unit designed for smaller aircraft, with a weight of less than 6kg (13.2lbs). It also includes the Aviator 600S, with IGA5001 antenna, and Aviator 700S, with HGA antenna, both of which support independent channels for the cockpit and also for the cabin for connectivity for passengers covering voice calls, email and internet browsing.

Cobham Satcom's established range of Aviator systems provides quality voice and data communications for cockpit and cabin on a broad range of business jets, allowing business travellers to work from an 'office in the sky'. These easy-to-install systems includes the Aviator 200 and 300, which is the perfect upgrade path for legacy Aero M installations, the 350 and 700, plus the 300D and 700D, certified on a multitude of business jet platforms.

Ensuring that smaller aircraft can benefit from L-band systems on the Inmarsat SwiftBroadband network, Cobham Satcom is also highlighting its Aviator Special Purpose (SP) systems for special application or customers with specific requirements (multichannel for expanded bandwith requirements or special environmental qualifications).

Cobham Satcom also offers a range of high, intermediate and low gain Inmarsat satcom aeronautical antennas to support Inmarsat SwiftBroadband, Swift 64 and classic Aero I/M services.
