AsBAA's new board of directors hosts inaugural strategy meeting

AsBAA, the Asian region's non-for-profit representative trade body for business and general aviation, today held its inaugural strategy meeting under the leadership of the new board of directors. The meeting was hosted at Sino Jet, Hong Kong, the office of AsBAA's new chairperson Ms. Jenny Lau.

It was well attended by members of the board, representing greater China and Southeast Asia and those members dialling in from multiple locations across the region to hear AsBAA's strategy outlined by the newly elected leader.

Jenny Lau said, “To ensure a stable transitional period for AsBAA, I called a leadership meeting for the new and existing board within one week of the election results which were announced on the 13th June in Singapore. We have successfully come together as a team today, prioritising urgent matters and delegating tasks effectively to secure AsBAA's continued growth and stability in the years ahead. The mission remains, to represent our members and advocate on behalf of the business and general aviation industry across Asia whilst growing our community engagement. I am confident that AsBAA's new board can continue this great work of the previous board of directors. I am excited to be leading the association in this period of great opportunity and expansion”.

Ms. Lau went on to share that AsBAA's core pillars of advocacy, representation and community would remain in place, and that the association also plans some additional initiatives in 2017 and 2018. These include: an expansion of the AsBAA Student Discovery program across the APAC region, enhanced events calendar including monthly membership meetings in Singapore, producing clear government communication packs, general marketing and connectivity for members, and the development of data tool kits to further promote the economic benefits of the industry.

Out-going chairman, Charlie Mularski, who will also remain active as a member of the board of governors said, “The new board of directors has the full support of the out-going board; we will work together to implement the clear tasks and objectives on behalf of the members and the wider industry”.
