Flexjet honoured with 18th FAA Diamond Award for Excellence

Flexjet LLC, offering travelers access to the world's most luxurious fleet of private jets, has been awarded the Federal Aviation Administration Diamond Award for Excellence for the 18th consecutive year, more than any other private jet travel provider.

The FAA Diamond Award is the highest honor within the William (Bill) O'Brien Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards Program. Qualifying requires that all of Flexjet's maintenance technicians participate in continuing education training programs at levels that exceed FAA rules, regulations and industry standards over a one-year period. The standards have become more rigorous through the years, making Flexjet's streak of 18 consecutive awards even more notable.

“Since the FAA Diamond Award was first offered in 1991, it has recognized the skill, discipline and dedication of aircraft maintenance organizations. We are proud of our maintenance team, which has earned this distinction for 18 years running,” said Michael Silvestro, Flexjet's chief executive officer. “Safety is our highest priority and our commitment to our Owners, clients and flight crews. This honor reflects that commitment.”

Throughout its history, Flexjet has set ever-higher standards for excellence in aviation maintenance. It provides state-of-the-art facilities, training and support, and sustains a culture focused on ensuring that all aircraft meet the highest benchmarks for care and upkeep. Teams of technicians work closely together to maintain every aircraft to the company's exacting requirements.

Flexjet's commitment to aircraft maintenance and safety is reflected in the awards it has earned and the standards it has met. Flexjet recently earned the ARG/US Platinum safety rating for the fifth consecutive two-year period. Only six percent of the nation's 2,159 commuter, charter and on-demand aviation companies have achieved the ARG/US Platinum rating, which is earned by passing a biennial assessment of industry best practices, including an onsite safety audit.

In addition, Flexjet was the first fractional jet ownership program to meet the exacting Industry Audit Standard of the Air Charter Safety Foundation, perhaps the toughest standard for Part 135. Flexjet also is an active participant in the FAA's innovative Part 5 Safety Management System.

Flexjet has also completed the IS-BAO audit, based upon a global, voluntary code of best practices with a safety management system as its basis. IS-BAO conforms with the standards and practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization, making compliance the equivalent of achieving an international standard of safety excellence.

“The FAA Diamond Award reflects our maintenance team's ability to exceed the standards for equipment, maintenance, flight crew experience and other criteria that contribute to safety,” said Silvestro. “I am proud of the men and women of our maintenance teams who earn this award every day we fly.”
