4M Events launches first African Airshow for western African region

A completely new African Aerospace and Aviation exhibition, African Airshow 2017, was announced today in Abu Dhabi by Mr. Didier Mary, managing director of air show organiser 4M Events, in partnership with Ghana Airport Company, coordinating the exhibition to be held in Ghana October 24 to 26, 2017. The event will take place over a three day period at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, capital of Ghana, and will welcome exhibitors and delegates from across the African continent.

African Airshow is aiming to attract a mix of aerospace, general, business and commercial aviation exhibitors who will come together on a static area of 50,000 sqm. The designated space will accommodate over 60 aircraft. The show format will reflect the approach taken at Abu Dhabi Air Expo, also organised by 4M Events, which offers chalets and hangar space located next to the runway, enabling manufacturers to present their range of aircraft.

In addition, an exhibition hall will host more than 300 booths where exhibitors will showcase a full range of aviation services and products. It is anticipated that aviation equipment suppliers, avionics companies, airport facility providers, infrastructure experts, security, and air traffic control companies, amongst others, will use the opportunity to present their products to the burgeoning African aviation marketplace.

Running in parallel with the exhibition, there will be conferences organized during the three day event. The conference is expected to discuss and debate important themes relating to all issues that will affect the future of aviation in Africa, including training, maintenance, skills shortages, recruitment, and other key topics.

β€œI am honoured that the Ghana authorities have shown their confidence in 4M Events by agreeing to collaborate with us on this exciting new venture. Our experience, knowledge and network of aviation contacts is such that we can already confirm that more than 50 companies in aviation have expressed strong interest in participating. The growth of African aviation reflects the need for this type of exhibition and we are delighted to be involved,” says Didier Mary, CEO of 4M Events.

β€œIt's an important announcement for the African continent, especially for Ghana, one of the most dynamic countries in Africa, which is experiencing strong economic growth, and an increase in aviation activity. Kotoka International Airport is one of the fastest growing passenger airports on the entire continent ”, adds Didier Mary.
