AsBAA, the Asian region's non-for-profit representative body for business aviation today announced that Tan Sri Ravindran Menon, founder and executive director of the SkyPark Group, Malayisa has joined the AsBAA board of governors as lead of the Malaysia chapter. The addition of Tan Sri to the AsBAA board of governors will seek to expand AsBAA's activities and influence in the southeast Asia and drive the business aviation agenda with local authorities.

Tan Sri shared, “I am extremely honoured that SkyPark was chosen to lead the Malaysia executive committee to discuss, manage and raise concerns of all the aviation players here as one voice. As the new AsBAA lead for Malaysia, I am looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”

AsBAA board of governor, Emil Pope said, “Tan Sri Ravindran Menon's appointment to the board of governors is a great win for AsBAA. We're delighted to have him join the team!”

Tan Sri, made his initial move into the aviation arena in 2007 with the formation of the SkyPark Group. Having transformed the neglected and under-utilised terminal at the old Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur into the bustling city airport, the SkyPark Terminal at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport that it is today, SkyPark, under Tan Sri's leadership has established itself as a dynamic airport, terminal regeneration and management specialist.

This aviation hub in the Malaysian International Aerospace Centre (MIAC) also operates a world class business and regional aviation centre, the SkyPark RAC, providing full hangar facilities for business jets. This facility caters to international FBOs, air charter operators and OEMs. Tan Sri is also the co-founder and executive director of Hartasuma Sdn Bhd, which was formed in 1994 primarily to cater integrated solutions for the transportation infrastructure which include rails and rolling stock. Synergising his experience in the rail and aviation industries, in 2011, he formed SkyPark Link Sdn Bhd. The SkyPark Link project is an integrated rail link and multi-modal hub which (when completed) will connect SkyPark Terminal with existing KTMB, LRT and MRT lines in the Klang Valley.

In recognition of the invaluable contributions made by Tan Sri to nation building and his active involvement in numerous charitable causes, he was conferred numerous awards by the federal government, the highest being the PSM (Panglima Setia Mahkota) which bestowed upon him the honourable title, 'Tan Sri' in 2009. In January 2013, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and outstanding professional excellence in enhancing bilateral relations with India and its diaspora, Tan Sri Menon was presented the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award, the highest honour conferred by the government of India on overseas Indians.
