Nasmyth TMF gets FAA approval to operate repair station in Burbank

Nasmyth TMF, a subsidiary of UK company Nasmyth Group, and a leading provider of metal finishing has been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to operate an approved repair station for specialized services at its facility in Burbank, California. The qualification follows a six-month audit process which the company has successfully completed.

As a qualified repair station, Nasmyth TMF is able to work on products from prime manufacturers including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Goodrich, Gulfstream, Parker Hannifin, and Bell Helicopters. Eaton Aerospace has already added Nasmyth TMF to its repair and overhaul approved team for a wide range of aircraft platforms and programmes.

The range of capabilities of Nasmyth TMF ensures that its customers do not have to employ multiple suppliers during the repair and overhaul process, the company is able to take on the full spectrum of the work, through to the completion of each product part.

Geoff Folkes, executive vice president at Nasmyth TMF, said, "It has been a long term strategic aim to establish the company as an operating Repair Station and the team has been focused on realising this goal. There are now seven personnel who are professionally qualified and approved for repairs work. This qualification allows us to carry out repair and overhaul work for our current customers while also expanding our footprint in the US".

Founded in 1955, Nasmyth TMF has grown to be one of the leading metal-finishing service companies in the United States of America. The company employs 37 personnel at its Burbank facility, with 80% of the workforce local to the area. Nasmyth TMF was acquired by Nasmyth Group in August 2014.
