IBAC announces new membership categories; welcomes Bombardier Business Aircraft as first partner

The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), the global voice of business aviation since 1981, today announced the launch of two new membership categories for business aviation manufacturers and service providers (Partner Members) and operators (Operator Affiliates).

In celebrating the announcement, IBAC welcomed Bombardier Business Aircraft as its first Partner Member.

“In becoming our launch Partner Member, Bombardier is demonstrating a strong commitment to the growth of the business aviation community around the world,” said Kurt Edwards, director general. “These new categories will allow IBAC's membership to reflect the diversity of the business aviation community and will enhance our efforts to meet the needs of a growing sector.”

"We believe IBAC represents an increasingly important voice for international business aviation, especially at ICAO, and we have witnessed first-hand how it also interacts with numerous business jet operator associations worldwide,” stated Leo Knaapen, chief, industry affairs. “We welcome this development and look forward to further supporting IBAC on issues and portfolios of significance to our entire segment.”

Partner Membership: Business aviation manufacturers and service providers can participate in and support IBAC's global efforts on behalf of the industry as Partner Members. Partners will comprise the IBAC Industry Advisory Group (IAG), have a voice on the IBAC governing board through the IAG, participate in IBAC-related events, and be linked to business aviation's premier safety programs: IS-BAO and IS-BAH.

Operator Affiliates: In response to operator requests for a means to support IBAC, business aviation operators may make a direct contribution toward IBAC's efforts and become Operator Affiliates. Operator Affiliates will receive timely updates on developments affecting business aviation around the world and be recognized publicly for supporting the global organization working on behalf of the industry.

EBACE participants are invited to visit the IBAC stand (no. B031) to learn more about IBAC, new membership options, and how IBAC can help.
