ExcelAire celebrates 30 years as leader in private jets

ExcelAire celebrated its 30th anniversary today, as one of the nation's leading private jet charter firms, specializing in worldwide jet charter, aircraft management, maintenance and sales. Founded in 1985, as an aircraft maintenance company, with a small office at MacArthur Airport (ISP) on Long Island, ExcelAire has grown to occupy more than 200,000 square feet of office and hangar space at the airport.

ExcelAire's business expanded beyond maintenance to include a fleet of more than 20 jets, including one of the largest fleets of Legacy jets, with aircraft based throughout the Northeast and Midwest available for worldwide charter. Its jets are flown by the best-qualified pilots in the business, and are supported by 92 aviation professionals who are dedicated to ensuring that every trip exceeds even the highest expectations. ExcelAire's customers include heads of state, high net worth individuals, and leading figures from the entertainment industry.

“Thirty years ago, ExcelAire was an upstart, providing maintenance services for the new private jet industry on Long Island, and we now offer a full range of services for our customers, with one of the most luxurious private jets fleets in the New York City metropolitan area,” said Greg Brinkman, president of ExcelAire. “As we grow the ExcelAire business, we will continue to provide the highest levels of service to meet the needs of our customers.”

In 2012, ExcelAire was acquired by Hawthorne Global Aviation Services, a premier provider of general aviation services, including first class FBO services, tailored charter solutions, turnkey aircraft management and FAA approved aircraft maintenance. Backed by the resources of Hawthorne Global Aviation Services, ExcelAire continues the expansion of its fleet, and its facilities at MacArthur Airport.
