Jet Aviation Basel to install two Pro Line 21 integrated avionics system upgrades

Jet Aviation Basel will install Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 upgrade on a Dassault Falcon 2000 in August, followed by a second installation on a Dassault Falcon 2000EX in September. These are the company's first two Pro Line 21 upgrades.

Designed to last a generation, the Pro Line 21 upgrade from Rockwell Collins is an avionics system solution that provides flexibility in flight deck configurations and flight display formatting. The upgrade includes well-structured and easy to understand large active matrix liquid crystal displays (AMLCDs) and a combination of high integrity systems to help improve operational safety.

Pro Line 21 is a prerequisite for FANS (Future Air Navigation System) operation, which is already being implemented and will be fully effective by 2020. Last year, Dassault Falcon announced that it will include FANS capabilities in its EASy II equipped Falcon 900, Falcon 2000 and Falcon 7X aircraft. Dassault Falcon is currently in the process of developing a FANS upgrade.

“We are pleased to install these upgrades to help our customers reach their destinations safely,” says Fabien Fuster, director of maintenance operations for Dassault aircraft at Jet Aviation Basel. “Our goal is to ensure the highest safety standards and the Pro Line 21 upgrade offers value-adding capabilities that comply with the latest navigation mandates.”
