Duncan Aviation's parts manufacturing approval quality system passes audit with flying colors

Duncan Aviation underwent a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Quality System Audit (QSA) of the Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) Quality System this January. The PMA authorization allows Duncan Aviation to manufacture approved replacement parts that are used to support its own supplemental type certificates (STCs) and also to support many original equipment manufacturer (OEM) installations.

During the in-depth audit, performed once every three-to-four years, the FAA did not document any instances of noncompliance. This means that the audit of the manufacturing and control processes shows that Duncan Aviation consistently produces high-quality parts to FAA-approved design data, while maintaining compliance with the applicable FAA regulations. Additionally, the FAA found that Duncan Aviation maintains the proper records, ensuring that every part manufactured at its Lincoln, Nebraska, facility can be traced from its raw material state to the finished product.

“This kind of result is somewhat rare for any PMA facility. It's possible only with everyone's hard work and diligence to ensure that we produce the best quality parts while remaining in compliance to the regulations and to our processes,” says ODA PMA administrator James L. Ferguson. “Basically, it means we're doing a whole lot of things right.

“Results like this also let Duncan Aviation's customers know that their confidence and trust in the company is well-placed,” Ferguson concludes.
