Gulfstream Brazil secures FAA Part 145 authorization

Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.'s service center in Sorocaba, Brazil, recently received Part 145 approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The approval allows Gulfstream Brazil technicians to perform maintenance on most U.S. registered Gulfstream aircraft models.

“Many of our U.S.-based customers travel to Brazil to conduct business,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream product support. “We are pleased to add to our service capabilities to meet their needs.”

The FAA approval covers the following Gulfstream aircraft: GV series, including G550; GIV series, including G450; G200, G150, G100 and GIII. Approval for the G650 and G280 is expected later in 2015.

Gulfstream Brazil, located at Bertram Luiz Leupolz Airport about 56 miles/90 kilometers from downtown São Paulo, one of the world's largest cities, began operations in June 2012 with approval to work on Gulfstream aircraft registered with Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency.

In August 2014, Gulfstream Brazil employees moved into a nearly 38,000-square-foot/3,530-square-meter facility at the same airport. The site includes a 34,768-sq-ft/3,230-sq-m hangar and a parts warehouse with more than $8 million in inventory.
