Overview

The large cabin G300 was introduced in 2002 as Gulfstream began a transformation of its product line. Powered by Rolls-Royce Tay MK 611 engines, it shares an airframe structure with the G IV but has a slightly reduced range, fewer standard cabin and avionics options plus a fuel load some 3,000 lbs less than the G400. For this reason, in some circles, it was referred to as the ‘G400 lite’.

The G300 production run was initiated just after the 500th G IV model was produced and ceased in 2004, when it was superseded by the G350, a shorter-range version of the G450. The G350 is powered by the same two Tay MK 611-8C engines as the G450, but with room for less fuel its range is reduced to 3,900 nm.

The first G350 delivery was made in 2005. The large cabin, transcontinental jet is a G300 with Gulfstream’s PlaneView avionics system. It will connect Washington, DC to Alaska, Rio to Miami and Sydney to Singapore. At its maximum take off weight of 70,900 lbs, it can use 5,050 ft (sea level) runways and climb to 41,000 ft in under 20 minutes. Big thrust reversers help bring the G350 to a stop in less than 3,000 ft.
